Back to school

The summer is OVER! The boys were so excited this morning to go to school! Nic walked Kaden in and said he did great! Nic actually had to remind K to give him a hug before he ran off to find his seat. I have never seen him this excited to go to school!

Cam has been off and on about starting but he was excited today. He was a little hesitant when I left, but I know he did great when they started their day.

Here's to a great 2014!!

My heart

Right before my It Works event at Bedazzled... I told Nic it definitely doesn't look like a birth control ad! (33 weeks)

Anyway, about 6 weeks ago, my heart started feeling funny.  I mentioned it to my doctor and she asked if it was racing or if I felt palpitations.  I told her it felt racey and she said that based on my low blood pressure, my heart is beating faster to compensate.  If I felt palpitations to let her know.  Over the next two weeks, my heart felt even more funny, but I'm not sure if it was "palpitations" or not. It felt fluttery.  It made me extremely nervous and anxious not knowing why I felt this way.  It happened a lot during the day and especially when I laid down at night.  My next appointment, I mentioned it again and told her I felt uneasy about it.  She listened and said I was throwing a few PVCs and that she would refer me to a cardiologist.  I got in the next day to see someone and they did an EKG which came out normal.  I also had an echocardiogram and blood work done and met with my doctor today to discuss the results.  One of the thyroid tests they did came out slightly high, but averaged together with the other test, the results look average.  My echo came out normal!  So apparently, I'm jut having symptoms but nothing functionally is wrong with my heart.  Thank goodness.  He said if it gets worse, they can put me on medication, but honestly knowing that nothing is wrong makes me feel like it's definitely something I can just deal with until the end of the pregnancy.  I don't want to be put on a beta blocker if I don't have to.

I'm such an over-thinker (aka hypochondriac) when it comes to illness.  Like, someone mentions the stomach flu and then I start to feel queasy.  I knew I wasn't over-thinking this, but wasn't really sure if it was a big enough deal to follow up about it.  I'm glad I did though.  Peace of mind sure goes a long way.

The twos are upon us

I don't have a lot to say about this.

It was her first MAJOR meltdown.

I'm not even sure what happened but I couldn't make her feel better.

It lasted a long time.

She's sleeping now.

And yes, those are Cam's shorts.

(Garth, that was a haiku!)

Potty training

I use Lora Jenson's 3 Day Potty Training because  I really like the method. It's not taking them to the potty every 10 minutes, and it is full of praise and positivity.  The point is catching them in the act of having an accident and rushing to the potty to finish on the potty.  And asking 1.5 billion times each day to "remember to tell Mommy when you need to go potty!"

We put Ryane in underwear last Friday thinking she would get it quickly. She has already been showing interest in the potty, saying potty and pee pee and is willing to sit on the toilet.  She also has gone on the potty a couple of times.  At 21 months, I felt like she was more ready than when we trained the boys at 27 months.
So when the first accident happened I rushed her to the potty to finish.  By the end of day 1 she hadn't made it on the potty but was holding it longer and longer between accidents.

By the end of day 3 she was holding it half the day and still not going on the potty.  She would even say she needed to go but then wouldn't or couldn't.  As I was emailing Lora, Ryane said she needed to go and once she was on the potty, she said "hurts!" when she tried to go.  I thought... okay, not ready, let me go get a diaper.  I do not want her to be in pain or to get an infection.  She's still little and we have plenty of time.  I was being selfish to get this done before the baby. Lora confirmed what I was thinking and advised to take a 30 day break and not mention potty training at all.

In the last 3 days, Ryane has asked to go on the potty and has peed 6 times!  I still have her in a diaper but am thinking over the next few weeks to take her more regularly and see where it goes.  I guess she gets how to do it now!  I'm just scared to push it to far.  I don't want any regression now or when the baby comes so I'm trying to be more laid back about it than I was with the boys.  There is no way I would have put them back in a diaper!

I'm proud of her though!  21 months is still so little to learn to go on the potty!  And she looks so darn cute in underwear, right?!

21 months

Not a great photo sesh this month- and a little Lucy sniffing  break near the end

Ry is 21 months old.  Holy moly!  Two is around the corner and my sweet baby girl is definitely growing up.  It makes me sad, but also really happy.  While the boys are out playing, I'm excited to have some time with my girl one on one!

Ryane wears size 4 diaper and 2T clothes. 3T is getting closer as her dresses are getting a little short.

Ryane naps around 12:30-1:00 and she falls asleep pretty quickly. She has been sleeping 1.5-2 hours.

She loves to play in her crib when she wakes up and is quite chatty from the minute I hear her.

Ryane goes to sleep around 7 and wakes up around 6:30.  She has a lot of animals and babies in her bed with her!

Ryane has started talking in 2-3 word sentences:

*I want wadu (water)

*Daddy work too

*I want that
*I toot (Funny story.  Nic came in to say goodnight to Ryane and was making her laugh and all of a sudden she tooted.  She got a very surprised look on her face and then said, "I toot!")

*Hi Mommy/Daddy/Kigi/Am, etc

*Bess you (bless you)

*I do it

*Mmmmm, lish (delicious)

She is such a comforter.  Whenever her brothers are crying, she always goes over to them and gives them hugs and pats their backs.

She loves her baby Lola cabbage patch doll and wants her to wear a diaper

She is working on potty training (to be continued in another post)

Ryane is still so so so SO busy.  And into everything. I had to call poison control the other day... Not kidding.

Ryane loves to read books.  Right now her favorites are a Baby Einstein animal book, and B is for Bear.

She requests "Bus" to sing before nap and bed and does all of the actions by herself.

She signs You Are My Sunshine with me and fills in the blanks when I stop singing. Love it!

Ryane loves to see buses on the road.

Ryane can hold her own with her brothers.  I've seen her beat the snot out of Cam before!

32 week sono

I was so excited to schedule this sonogram so that we could invite the kids to see their baby brother!  They haven't been to any of our appointments so far (Ryane came to one, actually) but they were generally in school or camps when the appointments were scheduled. Kaden showed a lot of interest in watching the DVDs of my sonograms and we thought they would get a kick out of the 3D version!

This little guy didn't show his face for so long and we couldn't even get a good profile picture of him until my 28 week appointment!  I wasn't expecting him to participate at this one either!

They told me to drink something sweet 30 minutes before the appointment.  He was moving ALL DAY but as soon as I started drinking my sweet tea, he took a little nap!

He started moving a bit during the sonogram and the sonographer was able to move his foot out of his face to get these sweet pictures.

In love.

He's beautiful!  I love the last picture when he is resting his head on his arm.

Can't wait to meet you, sweet boy!

My new job

I guess I like to stay busy.

I wanted to write a little bit about an opportunity that was presented to me back at the beginning of the year.  My new job!

My friend Christina had started posting pictures of these wraps back at the end of last year.  I was in.  I've always hated my belly, even back in high school (looking back though, I wish I would have appreciated my body more back then!!).  I have always tried all the craziness- the ab roller, the ab-tronic, the body wraps where you get wrapped up like a mummy, 8 minute abs.... you name it!  I contacted Christina about the wraps and if they were safe for nursing moms and she recommended that I wait till I was done.  When I saw the end in sight, I contacted her again and signed up as a Loyal Customer to get my wraps at a discount.  I told Nic, "I know she's going to try to get me to sell and I'm not a salesman!"  Sure enough, Christina brought up selling.  I told her I was really busy with the kids, working and my pottery business and I didn't think it was for me.  She said, "okay."  Okay?!? Ummmm... you're not that good of a salesperson if that's how we are going to end it!  I thought about this for a few days and then contacted her back... tell me more about this selling thing.  It didn't take me long to decide this was something I wanted to do because it was right up my alley.  Health, wellness and beauty products.  The wraps clearly sell themselves.  Extra income.  I googled bad things about the company and couldn't find anything.  Sign me up!  On February 4th, I signed up as an Independent Distributor for It Works.

I was overwhelmed at first, to be honest.  I didn't really know how to start and how to introduce this business to my family and friends.  A week later, I found out I was pregnant.

I got sick, exhausted and a little depressed from the pregnancy pretty much the week I found out.  I was also just coming off of having a really bad cold and a big fundraising event for the preschool in which Nic was the co-chair.  Now the shock of being pregnant was too much.

I was so tired.  I can't describe how tired I was, but it took everything I had to get up off the couch to change Ryane's diapers.  I cried when I had to get up and make dinner.  Taking care of everything felt impossible.

I put my new job on the back burner and thought I would quit.

I talked to Christina and told her that I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do, but I didn't see how this would work.  She told me that I could do it on my own time and she'd be there to help me when I was ready to get started.  Nic told me not to quit.  I stuck with it.

And I'm so glad I did.  I love this company!  There is a great sense of friendship, team work and the opportunity and potential are unreal!

First of all, this company is great.  It started in 2001 by Mark Pentacost and Pam Sowder.  They went debt free in 2009.  In 2012 they were projected to make $100k but they made $200k.  In 2013 they made $550k.  This year, they are projected to be a ONE BILLION DOLLAR BRAND.  Talk about growth!!  They company is named one of the top 500 privately owned companies and was listed at #26 in the top 100 MLMs (1 below Advocare).

Here's a bit of an overview of the business opportunity:

To sign up is currently only $99 (normally $199.00). With the $99 you pay, you will receive a kit. Your $99 kit will include one box of applicators (4 applicators in each box) that you will sell for $25 each, OR use personally so you have before/after testimony to run with. Your kit also includes a product catalog, 5 blitz cards (coupons for the wrap), loyal customer sign up sheets, distributor sign up sheets, an official It Works! organizer, and a dream board.

-Your goal is to sign 4 loyal customers in your first 30 days to receive $120 in free product. This is easy- everyone wants to try these wraps!

-For every Distributor you sign on your team that wants to sell the product, you will get a $100 bonus when they sign 2 loyal customers in their first 30 days.

-You will make 15% commission on every loyal customer directly enrolled under you. You will also make 5-15% commission on every distributor you enroll (and their loyal customers!) based on where they are beneath you.

As a Distributor you need:

-An 80 BV auto ship each month. This is the equivalent to approximately $80-120 worth of product each month (mine is usually around $95). This auto ship is what qualifies you for your commissions and bonuses. In other words this order is for any products of your choice, I always recommend getting wraps because you will need them AND you can turn around and sell them for cash. This is an optional autoship, if you can maintain your volume above 400 each month to maintain your qualification for commissions, you don't need to run it.

-You will also need an eOffice, which is your personal website and "back office." This is $20/month and truthfully, I don't know how you'd run your business without one. It is all set up by the company however you do get to choose a business name. This is how you will enroll your customers, distributors, and where you will send anyone interested in your products so they can order. It really is a necessity to run your business and it also has all of your training videos to help you begin your journey. (Again, you can do everything by paper - but that might limit your out of town customers)

It will cost about $100-140 (not including shipping/taxes) per month to run your business (depending on what is ordered for your autoship). However, remember most of that is in product that you can turn around and sell and/or personally use for your own health!

What we commit to you as a Distributor:

■Training videos and aides to help you reach your goals.

■Weekly conference calls that will help you understand and grow your business.

■Money! I promise you that if you work hard and follow the steps to success outlined in your kit and training, you will make money. When you reach the level of diamond, you will begin making approximately $1,500-2,000 the first month, with residual income building each month. Once the diamond bonuses start kicking in, this number will grow substantially.

■We have a facebook page where you can go and post questions, get suggestions, tips, etc... to help you run your business.

■There are also periodic training sessions all over to help you understand the business and products more.

We work together to meet our goals. We have a lot of fun and I NEVER feel like I am on my own. I will be there to help you along the way... we will bounce ideas off each other and succeed together!

The company also has a $500/month guarantee.  How much would $500 extra help each month?!?
