Omaha

We had a great trip this year to Omaha. Although Avery didn't sleep well, the other kids did great. I didn't take as many pictures as I had planned, but we were too busy having fun! Besides visiting family and friends, we went swimming at Gpa's, went to the Children's Museum, went to the zoo, went to the College World Series, went boating and I got to go to JunkStock!

We got to see my Aunt Jane and Uncle Mike's new lake house and take a ride on their boat! So fun! Kaden is the same age I was when we first started boating with them!

First word

This sweet boy said his first word!!

When we were in Omaha, Avery didn't sleep well at all. Nic and I traded off going in his room. One night I went in to give Nic a break and Avery leaned over to me and said, "Mama!" 

I was exhausted but so happy!!

Family pictures

We had our family pictures taken in May in the wildflowers. Because there has been so much rain, the wildflowers were gigantic!! 

I am in love with how these turned out!! 

8 months

Avery is wearing 6-9 and 6-12 month clothes. 

 

He is wearing a size 4 diaper. 

Avery has four teeth and the fifth one is on its way! (Both bottom, bottom right and too left)

He's not the best sleeper but is starting to do better. He will go back to sleep most of the time when Nic goes in there. He wakes once to eat. 

 

Avery stays awake about 2-2.5 hours before his next nap. 

 

Avery naps 2-3 times per day depending on what the day brings. His first two naps are usually 1.5-2 hours and if he needs a third nap it's usually 45 minutes.  

Avery still sleeps mostly on his belly. 

He nurses every 3.5 hours during the day.

 

Avery still isn't loving puréed foods but has done better with fruits than veggies. 

Avery is still taking a bottle once a week when I work.

Avery started babbling a bit!! He has started to mama and gaga noises. 

Avery is crawling fast! 

He can go from crawling to sitting and sitting to crawling easily. 

He can pull himself up to standing on some objects that he can grab onto such as the tv stand. 

He can not get down from standing so when he's stuck, he will cry for help. 

Avery likes to be outside. 

He loves Roxy and looks for her when you ask him where she is. 

He climbed up a step... So we put up the baby gate!!

Avery adores Cam. The look on his face when Cam talks to him or plays with him is priceless. 

Avery loves when Nic comes home from work! It's the cutest thing and none of the other kids did this at this age. When Avery hears Nic come home he crawls fast over to him, gets on his knees and wants to be picked up!
