Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day!

Nic, you are the greatest dad in the world. That little boo loves you more than I can even describe. Thank you for everything that you do for him (and for me) and we hope that you have a great day today.

I also want to wish my dad, my step-dad Paul, Nic's dad, and my grandpa a very happy Father's Day. We wouldn't be who we are without your love and support every day. Thank you for being there for us no matter what and for loving Kaden so much! We love you all and wish you a great Father's Day!

Pottery painting craze

It's been a crazy month of pottery painting! Before May I was painting a TON of shoes and all of a sudden, people want plates! On May 16th we had an event at Be-dazzled where people signed up to come in and have foot and handprints done. It was busier than I imagined and I have been non-stop painting (every single night) since. Here are some plates and platters I have done so far... with more to come before Father's Day!

Darling in my opinion!! I always like it when the customer has an idea of what they want.... makes it easy on me!

I painted the pink plate to match a plate this customer already had for her son.

Golf plates have become a very popular gift this Father's Day.

This was definitely a Lisa original. The customer said that her father-in-law loves music and guitars... I think he will be happy with this plate!

Golf platter with thumb prints from the older kids for the hole and the flag.

OMG- could that little hot dog BE any cuter?

Another golf plate

I painted this platter a little while back for my neighbor Kelley's husband, Carl. We had done foot and handprints from her twins for the ketchup, spatula, hamburger and flame on the grill. Super cute!

We're goin' to... Kansas City. Kansas City here we come!

Nic, Kaden and I took another trip to the mid-west, this time heading up to Kansas City to visit our friends Leah and Jake. Allison, Kris and Makenna came up too, so we had a friend reunion! It was so nice to spend time with them... I was sad to go- it's always so fun to reminisce about our crazy college days!

Here are some pics from the weekend:

This didn't last long...

Kaden loved petting the goats!

Thank you Aunt Leah and Uncle Jake for having us!

HAPPY 15 MONTHS!

Today Kaden turned 15 months old! We had a doctor's appointment this morning where he had his checkup and got 2 shots. Here are his stats:
Weight: 25 pounds, 2 ounces= 50th-75th percentile
Height: 32 inches= 75th percentile

The doctor was quite impressed with his words, and Kaden showed off a bit for him. He was lying on his back while the doctor was checking his stomach. He was pressing down pretty hard... and Kaden was squirming around trying to get out, and then said to the doctor, "up.... pease..."

Here are the words Kaden is using daily (and appropriately!):
Dada
Mama (still Mamba most of the time)
uh-oh
puppy
baby
eat
ilp (milk)
up
pease (please)
ite (light)
eese (cheese)
tsh (fish)
gapa
papa
pop
ice
ow (out)

Kaden also got 2 shots- it's the saddest thing to watch his face when they do it! He turns bright red, bottom lip pouts out and then starts to cry... Poor little Boo.

Happy 15 months Boo Boo Bear!!

New happenings

Kaden has been chatting up a storm lately. I have mentioned before that he is a little parrot- and he continues to live up to that name. He loves repeating any noises he hears. For example, in a parking lot if he hears a car beep twice when the car is locked, he says "ee ee." If a bird is tweeting outside, he tweets... if a dog is barking, he barks. When Max and Roxy growl at each other... he growls!

In the past 3 weeks he has been using the word "up" ALL THE TIME! At first it was cute, but now that he knows what up is... he wants up all the time. To the point that he just repeats "up up up up up" until you pick him up. I found up to be a bit demanding. Am I crazy? So now I say, "Up... what?" and he says "eease" for please! And a couple of times he has said "up eease."

Kaden continues to use signs but is starting to use words with the signs. He signs eat and very clearly says "eat." He signs milk and when I ask him what he wants, he says "ilp." Every night in his room he is given his chomper (aka pacifier) and blankie. Now right when we get in his room he says chomper (can't remember how he says it but obviously it's not the most clear word).

He also points up at the lights and says "ite" and on a few occasions has said "ice" when he wants to push the button for the ice maker, which by the way, is his most favorite thing in the world!

Kaden now says "ribbit" when you ask him what a frog says!

The other morning Nic and I were in his room and Kaden stood up on the bumper and put a knee up on top of his side rail.... so last night was Kaden's first night without bumpers. When I laid him down, he looked to the side and patted the side of the crib... like where the heck are my bumpers!

Kaden loves to read Go Dog Go at Mimi's house. Mimi says, "do you want to read Go Dog Go??" with a big inflection on the last Go. Now Kaden points to the book and says "Bah Bah Bah??" with a big inflection on the last Bah. He is part parrot I tell ya!

Nic started to teach him to play golf with his golf game he got for his birthday. He laughs and laughs when Nic hits the ball. For now, he loves throwing the balls at the dogs and chasing after them, but he does hit them with the clubs a little bit!

I fall more and more in love with that little boy every day!

Here are a few more pictures from around the house and with Kaden and Josh hangin' out in Omaha!

Our week away

Nic, Kaden and I went to Omaha last Tuesday for an entire week! My step-sister Emily got married on Friday, and my brother Dan and his family and my brother Eric and his girlfriend Sara all came up for her big day!

We had the most relaxing trip! We spent the first few days hanging out at my dad and Pam's house, sitting outside and looking at the "ish" in their pond. Kaden enjoyed playing on the deck and going from inside/outside/inside/outside...

The wedding on Friday was beautiful. Kaden and Josh looked especially handsome! Kaden made some friends- some girls between the ages of 18 months and 9 years old who he chased after on the dance floor. After dinner he went back home and went to sleep while the party continued!

We spent a lot of time at my grandparent's pool. Kaden hasn't been in a pool since last summer and was a bit unsure at first. After a little bit he had a great time splashing around and signing "more" whenever someone dove off the diving board.

We went on walks and hung out at the park by my dad's house. The slide was his favorite part (I think he is over swinging... at least for now)!

It was so fabulous getting to spend that much time with my family. I feel like Kaden really got to know Grandpa and Grandma and Uncle Eric. He does a great impression of Uncle Eric too (gorilla noises) and got to hear Grandpa drink coffee in person ("ahhh").

We spent a lot of time with Gigi, G-ma and G-pa (great grandparents). You can tell how much they love Kaden!! Gigi plotzed over both the boys (puh puh puh) and G-ma had fun chasing after ping-pong balls that Kaden threw for her!

Thank you Uncle Mike and Auntie Jane for the AMAZING pictures in the pool and at the park! We had so much fun seeing everyone and can't wait to come back for pumpkin patch season!

Newest additions

I have so many pictures to post from our trip to Omaha. I will have to wait until the weekend to put them on the blog... but for now I wanted to post some pictures of my newest pottery additions!

Here is the wedding platter to my step-sister Emily and Dustin

This platter was an end-of-the-year gift for a 5th grade teacher

This platter was a retirement gift that Jane (best seamstress ever... works for Be-dazzled!!) gave her sister and brother-in-law.
