Mother's Day sample

Here are some pictures of a sample I painted for Mother's Day. It's such a cute gift for mommies or grandmas! I will be painting hands (and feet) from 10-1 on Saturday so let me know if you are interested in signing up!

Here are a few more pieces I have been working on in the past couple of weeks:

We did this footprint at Be-dazzled... and this is actually a 9 month old! She was born early and was teeny tiny!

Twins Macie and Megan

I am thrilled with this plate for my neighbor Kelley. The argyle came out really nicely!

Conversation

This morning Kaden and I were video chatting with Grandma and Grandpa. He is now pretty interested in the computer screen (not just the keyboard and mouse) and I think gets that his family is in there! After we finished talking, we turned off the video...

Kaden: Signs more and points to the monitor
Me: "More what?"
Kaden: "Gapa"

Holy moly... this is AWESOME!!

Words

I have been so terrible about writing down words as Kaden says them. So, to date, these are Kaden's first words:

Uh-oh
Dada
Meow "ah-ow"
Mama- He used to babble mama all day. Now it sounds more like "maba" or "bama"
"Bbbuuu" - Which I am not quite sure how it's spelled. But it's the sound an elephant makes!!
Arf Arf Arf
Roar "rraa"
Papa
Fish "fsh"
Grandpa "gapa"

I think that's it! He makes me laugh every single day. Now when the dogs bark at something, he starts barking too. He says meow when he sees Harley or when he's reading his kitty cat book.

Here's a conversation we had yesterday while we were looking at pictures on the bookcase:
Kaden: Points to Grandpa and said "dada."
Mommy: "No, that's Grandpa"
Kaden: Stands up and points to a different picture of Grandpa.
Mommy: "Who is that?"
Kaden: "Gapa"

SUPER SWEET!

Pottery

I painted the divided plate and mug as samples for Be-dazzled. The colors didn't turn out great on camera but I think lime green, purple and pink are a cute combo.

This plate was painted for a customer at Be-dazzled. It's for her 4th daughter and matches the other 3 plates she had painted!! She had given a few pictures to work from.

These plates were done for my neighbor Kelley as gifts for her friend's twin 3 year old girls.

I did footprints on the bottoms of both of these shoes. Such cute little babies!

I will be selling my wedding plates at Stella's Bridal Collections at the Shops at Legacy. This is a sample I did for the store!

A little bit more, little bit more

I never thought I'd say this but...

I think he's got it!

We have been busy for the past couple of days and haven't spent a lot of time walking with Kaden. I noticed that he was taking a few steps and then falling to his knees (purposefully) and crawling to whatever he wants.

Today it seemed like it clicked a little. Kaden walked further, turned directions and didn't seem to be falling as much. His balance is getting pretty stinkin' good. This afternoon Kaden initiated walking from a standing position MULITPLE TIMES without a push from me or Nic. Yea! I am proud of my little boo.

First steps

Well...

A couple of days ago Nic had enough. Kaden is clearly strong enough to stand on his own, but is so dang stubborn that he bent his legs and wouldn't whenever we tried to get him to.

So Nic didn't take no for an answer.

Yesterday Kaden shuffled a little bit... once right and once left.

Today Kaden did better!! Here is one of the videos I was able to take. He actually took 6 full steps (right, left counting as one step) at one point today!

Sorry the video is upside down... Have no idea how to turn it around!

Word update

Kaden now says mama!! Not as often as dada, but he is saying it! Yea!! It seems like his list of words is growing fairly quickly now. Dada, mama, uh-oh... and then I swear he said nana (banana) last night at dinner. He was pushing his yogurt away, which he NEVER does, and I asked him what he wanted. He said "nana nana." I said, "Kaden, do you want a banana?" and he turned and pointed to where the bananas are on the counter! Who knows if it was just a coincedence, but it was pretty cool. He also meows whenever he sees the cat or when you ask what a kitty cat says..."ah-ow"

I will try to get it on video soon.

Walking update: Still no walking. But, he is standing independently more often now and walking holding on to one of our hands without too much of a fight. Keep your fingers crossed! It feels like he's getting heavier by the day! :)
