The Buggyboo Chronicles: 20 Months

20 months seems so much older than 19!

At 20 months, Cam-bone:
-Naps in the afternoon and continues to have hard time falling asleep. Sometimes he cries, sometime he plays. But MOST days, he will eventually fall asleep.
-Wakes up cranky for his nap lately. Watching the Fresh Beat Band (bee bah) makes him feel better.
-Has tried on Size 5 diapers but had a bit of a blowout. So, we are back to size 4
-Can wear 24 month or 2T tops and 18 month or 24 month bottoms
-STILL has 12 teeth but the top left canine tooth is close. And we have the fussiness to prove it.
-Throws tantrums and goes completely limp when he's upset.
-Has several new words including: stop (top), crackers (cahkus), school (cool), play (pay), water (has been saying that for awhile but now says wawa), sit, brush (bahsh), toothpaste (pape), glasses (guses)
-He has said "I did it!"
-Loves to play with Kaden, but on his own terms. When Kaden starts to mess with him too much, he yells, "STOP!"
-Loves buses and trains.
-Loves school. He had a great 2 weeks and then last week had a little bit of a hard time leaving Daddy. But he was fine once he was with his teacher Lori. She reports he does great in school... and he has some fabulous art projects to prove it. Their class has a website and there are some pretty cute pictures of him in different activities. He looks like such a baby!! Slone goes with him to school, and although I try to discourage the teachers from getting him, he is always holding him when I come to pick up.
-Loves to sing songs. He sings a lot of songs from Gymboree (Me: Gymbo the clown jumps, Cam: up ah dow... yayy!!)
-Interacts well at Gymboree and participates really well with the physical activities. He is getting better with some of the more musical activities (pounds the air log, freezes and puts his hands on his head when told, etc.)
-Loves to read books. His favorites this month are The Little Gorilla, Thomas the Train, and the 100 Picture Book.
-Still loves to sing along to Wheels on the Bus, Old McDonald and Happy Birthday
-Loves playing at daycare and is becoming one of the bigger kids there (lots of babies right now)
-Still rear-facing in the car. 4 months to go. So squished!
-Takes off one shoe and one sock most every time we are in the car
-Stands up in his car seat almost every time I put him in. He's a strong bugger.
-Is so popular at school! Whenever we go in to get Kaden, all the teachers always call his name. He LOVES the attention! Grins ear to ear. Loves to get kisses from Ms. Cynthia (Mommy and Me and Music teacher) during carpool.
-Asks to color almost every day
-Blows a kiss to anyone when you tell him to say thank you- even did it to the teenager checkout guy at Target the other day.
-Is eating a better afternoon snack but is still having a lot of trouble with dinner. He will eat fairly well on the move or if he is distracted... but that's not how I pictured our family dinner to be!! Dinner is a fight. Every night.
-Is interested in puzzles but doesn't have the patience to put them back together
-Loves to carry real keys with him when he rides the ATV or dump truck around the house
-Stands up on a chair to try to reach the books on the bookshelf. After I get him his requested book, he takes it to the table and reads it.
-Has pee peed in the potty once! He was in his room, said "pee pee" and went to the bathroom. Nic picked him up and held him up over the potty and he went! Since then he has mentioned "pee pee" a few times but when we've tried, nothing has happened.
