I love how proud he is when he learns something new!

Enjoy the video... try to ignore my voice and just concentrate on the cute baby!

Conversations

Conversations with Kaden are typically either hilarious or frustrating. He started answering "I don't know" lately and I'm pretty sure it's a way for him to get out of answering my questions. Kaden has quite the imagination. A few months back he told us about his apartment. Apparently he lives there alone, but a construction worker comes and works on it every so often. His apartment is located "on the way to Mimi's" and it's dirty, which is why I'm not allowed there. He cleaned it once and said I could come over for a party he was having. This past weekend, he informed me that he doesn't have his old apartment anymore and now he has a new one which is "on the way to Mimi's Dazzled." The new apartment is red and he lives there with his sister... His sister, Johnny.

Our conversations about school are a little bit more frustrating. I have to pry a lot to get a little information out of him. Typically he tells me he played with his friends, painted, rode in the cars outside and "was a good boy and didn't hit my friends." Some times I get to hear about when other kids get in trouble and go to time out. He also tells me about what he ate, "I ate all my sandwich but only some of my carrots and apples." Last night he told us that his teacher Kathey calls carrots "grow food" because they make you grow big and tall. I love Kathey.

I'm also amazed by Kaden's sense of direction. I have none. I could get lost in a neighborhood in Plano. Not my neighborhood... and not my mom's neighborhood, but pretty much any other neighborhood I could potentially get lost. On the way home from school, if we turn where we don't normally turn, he immediately asks where we are going. He is also starting to learn left from right. I can't tell if he is accurate though... 50/50 chance!

He likes to talk about the "hycoties," or coyotes, in our neighborhood. He likes to roll down his window when passing the field and yell hi to them. I thought the little hycotie was cute until I found out that there were maybe 10 or so in the field. Now I'm back to being a bit frightened :)

Kaden loves to run around and jump on things. He used to be so scared of EVERYTHING (and he is still so scared of most things), but he has gotten a little bit more brave with things like jumping off the couch or jumping from the ottoman to the couch. He's even warmed up at birthday parties and runs around like a wild man!

Love that Boo. Can't believe he will be 3 in a couple of weeks!

Happy Valentines Day and Happy 10 months!

Today Cam officially turns "double digits" - 10 months old! Part of me thinks, wow, where has the time gone, and the other part feels like Cam has been a part of our family since we became a family! I guess I just can't picture life without our sweet bean.

At 10 months old, Cam:
-Naps two times per day. Usually he falls asleep quickly in the morning (but of course, not this morning) and it takes him a while to fall asleep in the afternoon.
-Still wears size 3 diapers but they are getting a bit short in the back
-6-12 month pants are getting a little snug and he is wearing 12-18 month shirts
-Still has only 2 bottom teeth!
-Stopped using the sign for "more" and then started again. Now he puts both of his hands up by the sides of his head when he wants more.
-Has done the sign for "cheese" because he LOVES cheese. When I've asked him if he wants to eat and do the sign for "eat" he brings his hand up to my mouth!
-Did not like yogurt!
-Had tried level 3 foods with chunks of rice and veggies. Prefers any fruit to these!
-Enjoyed those puffy crackers and being able to feed himself
-Can pull up on anything, even a wall
-Can stand up by himself (without holding on) and has good balance. Once he's figured out he is doing this on his own, he lowers himself down.
-While holding on to something, he can squat down to the ground and then stand back up.
-Can walk while holding on to something that moves (like his dump truck or his walker)
-Likes to walk around holding on to your hands
-Loves bath time. Loves when you tell him it's bath time. Loves crawling to the bath.
-Still doesn't talk as much as Kaden did but makes much more sounds than he used to. He also makes a lot of funny noises with his mouth
-He loves to repeat sounds, like dogs barking, the coffee maker grinding beans, etc.
-He has been better when I drop him off at the gym day care. In fact, he hasn't cried the last 2 times I dropped him off
-He smiles and laughs all the time
-He plays independently
-Is mischievous. Loves to play with the computer tower, the router or any kind of wire/plug.
-Loves to play with grocery bags and make a big mess in the kitchen
-Loves splashing in Roxy's water bowl
-Loves to knock down whatever Kaden is building
-LOVES to open and close doors and drawers
-LOVES to dump everything out of buckets and knock everything off of shelves
-Still puts everything in his mouth
-Laughs at Kaden the most when Kaden shakes his head back and forth in the air and on Cam's head
-Is ticklish under his right arm, his neck and the back of his legs
-Is IMPATIENT, especially during meal times
-Is perfectly happy when we are not at home... rarely makes a peep and just sits, smiles and people-watches
-Always poops when we are in the car. 100% of the time.
-Is completely kissable, lovable, smoochable. Love that boy! Happy double digits, beanie!

Cruisin' around

This dump truck was given to us by a neighbor before Kaden was even able to use it! It has by far been Kaden's favorite and most used toy, and now Cam is able to enjoy it, too! Check him out, walking around with it!

We've got a climber

My mom watched the boys on Wednesday while I worked. While I was gone, Cam attempted a new trick with the slide. Later that day, I got that little dare-devil on video:

Snow

Kaden's poor little hands were bright red when he got back in from playing out in the snow! Once he warmed up we made snow ice cream!

Busy, busy, busy

Cam's busy. Really busy. It seems as though he is always on a mission. Most of the time, the mission requires him to make as big of a mess as possible. But that's okay because his cute, mischievous smile is worth the clean-up!

Here is a video of that busy boy in action:
